  • La mayor parte de la población desplazada del municipio de Soacha se concentra en las comunas IV y VI y principalmente en la primera, la comuna IV con un total de 1.194 hogares equivalentes a 5.970 personas

  • People generally come for the networks, friends, churches, NGOs
  • Most have no access to health services, deficient public services, including infrastructure and lack poor sewer system access

Stats to find later, but in general:

  • A lot of girls get pregnant – some stay in school and some finish school from home
  • If the dads are from the colegio they tend to take responsibility for the babies (financially and in a family way)
    • If not, they generally do not help out
  • After school the couples move in together – but don’t marry

Vínculos Solidarios

  • Connecting people from different cultures, but doing so in a way that helps create bridges of communication so that it is not just money changing hands, but real communication and caring, care of well-being, etc.
  • This multicultural aspect and the ties formed helps to foster community participation
  • This is not personal economic support – it is for the community through a person
    • Used for medical help, betterment of schools, micro loans, teacher training, investment in the parents, training
    • Donations should help the child, parents and community
